I admire the woman’s business savvy, but I’m a little weirded out by the BE cult of Leslie.

I didn’t know there was one, probably because I pay so little attention to makeup.

Alas, makeup was my first love until this flirtation with perfume started. I thought it was just a fling, but then I found Now Smell This…

Seriously, though, I’ve seen hoards of women coming to see Leslie Blodgett in-store. She gets the superstar treatment.

I remember seeing her “Bare Escentuals” info-mercials on TV and really not believing that a mineral makeup could do eveything she claimed, so I tried them. They are okay, but if it mixes with water or sweat, it cakes, so that you have to take a sponge and even it out. I wonder what notes make up her scent.

The “don’t go to the makeup counter without me” lady will tell you mineral cosmetics are a bunch of hooey. I’m with her.

As I have found out. I gave up using them about a year ago. No matter what they say, I don’t recommend it to anyone except those who have VERY oily skin and of course those who don’t plan on sweating!

Paula Begoun, right? I like her.

I have a sample. I would say it starts out smelling a bit like Donna Karan’s Black Cashmere, with a slightly more ozonic “clean” note somewhere in it, then ends up rather cleaner, with something else – tomato? – that reminds me of Amazing Grace.

Two copies don’t make a right. 🙂 I thought it was pleasant enough but I can’t picture shelling out for it. I would imagine that it will evoke for some just what it’s called – Bare Skin – as Black Cashmere is supposed to smell something like Donna Karan’s husband?, and certainly smells a little like mine.

Thanks for the description! I have a sample but only tried it 1x very quickly so far.
