Vera Wang will launch Glam Princess, a new flanker to 2006's Vera Wang Princess, in December.
Glam Princess was developed by perfumers Ilias Ermenidis and Harry Fremont (both of whom worked on the original Princess fragrance); the notes feature red berries, guava, pear, orange blossom, vanilla orchid, ambrette, marshmallow and cashmere wood.
Vera Wang Glam Princess will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (via wwd)

You know, I think maybe that’s how the first one sold, but I have a feeling lots of adults are buying these. The 3rd grade alone could not account for their popularity.

oh, my daughter is a smart one indeed….she is pushing for me to open a split….and she’s started her campaign early enough that it’s probably going to work. But at least she has conceded that a split portion would be sufficient…..whew!

Oh, I don’t know. If the mainstream stuff out 1-2 years ago had been anything other than sickly sweet fruity-floral-fluff, I would never have found this blog nor the 100s of more fascinating frags I’ve tried since then. It was only bc I couldn’t find a single thing I liked (except the 2 Hermes Jardins out at the time, and couldn’t decide between the two) that I searched for Hermes and found NST.
It’s so cute! Intoxicating sweet and cute. Beware a SA sprays it on me. last Time a VW hit my nose I nearly got in a fight with the SA who did not ask before she sprayed it on my direction. It was Princess… still shivering…
I am not loving this bottle…liked Rock Princess better.

I haven’t even smelled Rock Princess yet. I thought the first Princess was okay for casual wear (and something easy since I had a newborn at the time and sampling/shopping for frags wasn’t something I was doing a lot of then :D) and Flower Princess, while kind of boring, was an unassuming light floral to wear when I wanted something plain and pretty for the spring.
I liked Halle and M by Mariah Carey as well, so will likely give this a try. I don’t wear great classics or niche every day simply so I can enjoy their wonderful complexity when I do, so it’s nice to have something uncomplicated to fall back on now and again. Vera’s fragrances aren’t groundbreaking by any standard, but I don’t find them unbearable, either. Now her wedding dresses… Those were gorgeous! 🙂
I’d agree…the line is conservative for the most part, but not badly done at all.

According to WWD, it did really well. The article says Princess (all together) is 50% of the VW perfume business, and Rock Princess is 30% of that. Their idea is that they’re after young consumers who always want something new, so I think we can expect these flankers to appear regularly.
Ive never really been a fan of the Princess line but so many girls in my family luv them that i keep buying them as gifts. My mom, my aunts, my cousins and my friends. I dont c anything in any of them at all but I do like the bottle on this one. Will have to try it when i c it. I got my ma a bottle of Kenzo Amour & Forever MC for her Bday. Shes gonna luv them! Ive really fallen for Amour!

heart shaped bottle and guava!!! i want to be a wee lil girl now to justify this one…thought not keen on mixing all them other fandangled notes with the guava.

Maybe it’s the Vicodin talking, but I really don’t mind all these super-sweet fragrances geared towards the young ‘uns. I think it’s just fine for the teen (and younger) set. It’s the fact that there aren’t enough selections out there for those of us that want something more complex. Well, that and the fact that this sort of thing is often marketed to grown women with the assumption that we all hanker to be young again. (I don’t, thanks.)

OMG what a bottle, I would cover my head in shame if someone would think THAT’s my kind of fragrance.
No matter how nice the fragrance is, the bottle kills the deal for me.
The formula suggests Oilily fragrances. Do you guys know Oilily? It’s a Dutch firm, they produce Mommy & Kids stuff – very very colourful and sometimes slightly silly bags, clothes and accessories. Nothing for an Egyptian Goth like me. -)

Smelled it yesterday. My friend said she was told it only comes in a 1.0 oz. It’s very sweet. Like candy, Guava and Peaches

It was ok. I liked it better then the other 3 but thats not saying much seeing as how I really didnt like them. Its better then the rotten fruit of Rock Princess. I did like the bottle. Macys only has the 1oz. I was really tempted 2 get one. The Marc Jacobs vendor was there and they gave me a lola deluxe mini 4 free. That was really nice of them. I really like lola. : )

What the hell is wrong with everyone? Saying it’s a 3rd-grader’s perfume. Grow up. Seriously. I happen to work for a perfume store in NYC, and we received testers of Glam Princess and it smells amazing. So, if you haven’t even smelled it, just, don’t talk. You’re wasting your time.
