Posted by Robin on 17 September 2009 46 Comments

Amouage travelhdp-nomade

Amouage will launch a new set of travels sprays, each with four 10 ml refills (see above left). The sets will be available in Amouage Gold, Dia, Reflection, Jubilation 25 and Lyric. I'll update with prices and sources when I can find them. (via finmark.it)

And from Histoires de Parfums, a travel set in black neoprene (see above right), containing three 14 ml sprays of your choice, 87€. (via vogue.fr)

My wallet was in my pocket… but it’s safe and sound! They seldom come up with these sets for men… 🙁

Ha! I saw that the Amouage didn’t have a price, and thought, Well, I have to ask, so I can’t afford it.

I think that the Amouage set will probably be around €150. Just guessing, though.

I’m lucky — the Amouage scents I like best are the men’s…and so far, no travel sets for men 🙂

Oh, dear, my heart just stopped for a second…
I guess these travel sets are getting really popular, finally.
The Amouage set looks gorgous, and it’s really great that Histoire de Parfums let you choose all 3 perfumes. Bravo!

Not oud, not pine needles, but travel sets are THE trend this year!!
    😉
BTW, I read on “www.extrait.it” that histoires de parfum has just presented 3 (!!!) tuberose focused fragrances… I’m on a tubey kick lately and would love to smell all three versions (very different – or so they seem from the notes). I hope they too will fit in that travel set concept!!

Yay! More travel sets! Perhaps L’Artisan’s taking notes and will bring back the 15ml bottles. Now if only Amouage and Ormande Jayne would let you mix and match… This would be a perfect introductory set to each line! Though I don’t know if an Amouage variety would be such a fine idea given I’d probably like every single one… *pretends not to see the Amouage link*

Amouage does a really nice sample set though…and they’re good sized samples — 2 ml each. Just sayin.

Some of the discounters have them. There is a women’s, a men’s, and a combined version. Is it ok to name names on the blog? If so, I’ll add that info.. (One hint is a company that was forced to change it’s name by flea-bay, IIRC.)

Sure, you’re welcome to name names! I’m sure the one you’re hinting at is Beautyencounter, do tell if there are others.

Yep, BeautyEncounter .com is one and PerfumeShop .com is another. (Nope, that isn’t The Perfume Shoppe; its a discounter.)

I just got the 6 sampler set from Aedes – they have the men’s and the women’s – not the mixed one (I have only seen that on Amouage’s website so far).
I had no idea they are out in the discounters. Thank you Eileen!
Wearing Lyric today and I am trying to convince myself that it is just too spendy for me.

I’d be happier if they’d just do more 30 ml bottles at a reasonable price, like they did with 25/XXV.

I think the 30 ml size is a good idea for every line! I’ve got so much perfume now I could probably float a barge.
MIght have to finally break down and try these…hmm…

I second the 30 ml policy: even 15 ml would be nice for those of us who have/desire too many bottles!

Yes – 15 ml would be the best. It would make me more likely to buy an FB instead of doing a split and, if I really love it, I’ll buy a bigger bottle the next time.

Exactly! Plus, given my budget, I know I can’t afford many, so I take my sweet time choosing FBs. With 15 ml bottles, I’d have 5-10 snapped up in the time it would take me to decide which ONE FB I would buy.

my roving perfume eyeballs love the look of that Amouage travel set, but in the end I’d calculate the per ml price and keep doing what I already do—which is make myself a 10ml decant for everyday use and leave the FB in the back of the cabinet secure in it’s pretty box. So I make my own “travel size “. HOWEVER—the 4 x 10ml sets are an ideal set up for splitting.

I was listening to a song that says “neoprene” and I didn’t know what it was, so I looked it up.
and now I’m seeing neoprene everywhere o__O
    has neoprene always been everywhere?

This reminds me that I need to try those Histoires de Parfums perfumes.

I bought my men’s sample set from Amouage direct through their website. It’s a wonderfully presented and generous set. Great to see HdeP come up with a travel set, I think they make some great scents (1969 being one!) but they don’t seem to get much coverage. They also do a great sample box of ALL their scents!

Yes, the HdP sample box is a good deal too. I really like one of the citrus ones but can’t remember which year it is…

It wasn’t 1873 (Collette) was it? I liked that one too. Described as a hesperidic gourmand – grapefruit, orange, lemon etc… I like HdP, but sometimes using years as names becomes confusing and cumbersome! Should have just called this one Collette and 1969 “Love” or “Peace” or “Woodstock”!

I guess the perfumers are really taking notes this fall.
Just got an e-mail from Parfumerie Generale that they have the new 30 ml bottles on their website.
How I wish that everyone would do that!
