Paris Hilton will launch Siren, her sixth fragrance for women, in July. Hilton noted that she "felt like Ariel from The Little Mermaid" during the photo shoot for the ad.
Siren was developed by perfumer Honorine Blanc. The fragrance notes feature mandarin, apricot nectar, frangipani, honeysuckle, coconut orchid, water lily, vanilla beans, sandalwood and creamy musk.
Paris Hilton Siren will be available in 50 ($45) and 100 ($55) ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. The bottle design is meant to evoke a mermaid's tail.

The fragrance notes don’t sound that bad. But then, it’s Paris Hilton, so that doesn’t bode well. (Although, I did buy Heiress, so clearly my standards aren’t as high as I think they are.)
I don’t think that is usually so much the notes, but the execution that makes them so bad. I’ve tried to avoid the Paris Hiltons as much as possible, but the ones that I have smelled have smelled cheap to me.
Just hoping it isn’t aquatic…but it probably is.
Ariel is probably a better reference…sirens are bird-women, not mermaids, although a common confusion. They’re closer to harpies!
Of course Paris can laugh all the way to bank…

It depends on whose mythology you’re following, and when. To the Romans, the Sirens were the daughters of the sea-god Phorcys, who did have a fish tail, and in later Greek mythology the word was used interchangeably for fish-women or bird-women.

The bottle looks nice; It’s without doubt the best one from the PH line & the notes sound nice… I’ll try it out on my next US holiday. (I’ve got a long list of perfumes to try; forget Seaworld and Universal Studios; take me to Macy*s, Perfumania and Sephora).
But the ad campaign? No, just no. It makes Fairy Dust look sophisticated.
Can’t argue with that…Sea World & Universal Studios don’t appeal to me either 😉
Amanda, make sure you also make a trip to Saks Fifth Avenue, which has a more sophisticated range, and Aedas Venustas in the Village where you can sample niche perfumes and get samples!

Funny, but she really doesn’t bother me. At all. Heiresses are as old as the concept of money, and no reason she shouldn’t be out there *doing something* rather than *just* lounging around spending money “discreetly out of the public eye.” She’ll probably end up being a revered philanthropist. See Brooke Astor or Doris Duke… I guess the ad doesn’t bother me either.
Anyway, I’d be curious to smell it; I enjoy when a coworker wears the original Paris Hilton, but the sample I had of Fairy Dust was one of the cheapest, most vial things I ever smelled.

Ariel would never shoot a pornographic movie of herself having sex on the Internet. It must be nice to have money. You can do whatever you damn well please. So why do it on the cheap? The video was her claim to fame. I just can’t see adding to her wealth. Maybe that makes me a bad person. But she has became a role model for little girls and I think it’s a shame.
Don’t know if I agree that the video was her claim to fame…I mean, lots of people have done the same and it hasn’t made them famous, right? She was already famous. Agree it’s a shame if she’s anybody’s role model though.

I smelled it yesterday. Where do I start….
First of all, the bottle feels like a plastic water bottle! It isn’t even GLASS! Second of all, and here is the shocker, it smells EXACTLY LIKE VIVA LA JUICY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fairy Dust smelled like Juicy Couture, and THIS ONE SMELLS LIKE VIVA LA JUICY! It’s just A LOT LIGHTER! I can’t believe her. That being said, this is her best smelling fragrance
Well, that’s one way to do it: copy other scents. But have to say I don’t think Fairy Dust was even close to as good as the original Juicy Couture!
i got to test this yesterday at macys and it is just a lighter cheaper version of Viva La Juicy. Id say it is her best yet but it is just another copy like fairy dust was of the original Juicy. O well. i wasnt expecting much from her anyways. im not liking the bottle either. but i have to say my much older mom and aunt tested it too and they both really liked it! a first from them when it comes to miss Hilton.

Ok, I felt the bottle again, and while it isn’t plastic, for glass it feels VERY light. I’m not sure how to explain it. It feels like if I drop it it will break, but it feels very light and not as heavy as a full glass bottle would be in that sized bottle
