Sheriff's officials said a deputy plans to be back on duty Wednesday after a woman she was trying to arrest broke her nose with her purse. Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said the purse the 48-year-old woman swung Tuesday evening contained a large bottle of perfume and weighed more than three pounds.

That’s not the sort of weapon I had in mind when I purchased my own scents.

LOL —I feel bad for the deputy with the broken nose—but this is toooooo funny! I really want to know what the perfume was….talk about snarky comment fodder for just about EVER!
And to think –all these years I’ve only had a 10ml atomizer in my bag…..I guess “purse size” is different to some people!

This is a sign! For manufacturers to offer smaller size bottles. This would never have happened with a 20 ml!!

Maybe this is something that could be covered in self defense class: “Look them right in the eye and state in a strident tone–I have perfume and I’m not afraid to use it!”

I’ve got a sizeable bottle of Donna Karan’s Gold in my handbag today. Perhaps I should apply for a concealed weapons permit. lol

Breaking a deputy’s nose is, of course, not that funny… but thanks for the comic relief this morning. Only people like US are actually dying to know what the perfume was! It always occurs to me how heavy and hefty the Malle bottles are.

For heavy and hefty, I like Kenzo Power. Not only that, but it shouldn’t shatter, either.

yeah, that oakmoss was extremely ‘sensitizing’ to the deputy’s nose!

P.S. I don’t own it, but that bottle is pretty heavy and solid. I have DK Gold too, but I’d never do that for fear it would break.

This is very silly! I do have a 3.4 ml botte of Ferre that is a serious glass brick – I often think I should keep it next to the baseball bat! And I did see a distressingly large bottle of 4711 at TJ Maxx yesterday…..

i’d have guessed it was that 400ml bottle of prada’s infusion d’iris… they maybe forgot to pack the 30ml purse-size bottle and funnel in her package??

Oh no! The poor deputy will have to be debriefed to alleviate her new phobia of perfume. I wish I knew her address, I’d send her a gift of a big old’ bottle of perfume… the fuma-bomber strikes again!

My guess would be one of the L’Artisan Parfumeur bottles – the bottles AND caps for that line are pretty heavy.

Another guess might be Eternity, but that one is more like a spike through the head for me…

Yes, that cap could definitely injure someone!
