The riper aspects

Posted by Robin on 7 December 2008 33 Comments

Patrick Süskind's novel Perfume repulsed many with its description of 18th-century Paris: a world redolent of flesh, rot, manure and reeking stews, where even the king "stank, stank like a rank lion". Perfume and all its pageantry

Posted by Robin on 7 December 2008 8 Comments

And we’re gearing up (or at least, thinking about gearing up) for the next Prix Eau Faux. Look for an announcement in early January, and we’ll probably start accepting entries later that month.

Today, I’d love to hear from anyone who has complaints or suggestions for Now Smell This as we move into our fifth year of blogging. Are there new features you’d like to see, any subjects you’d like to see covered more (or less), anything in general you’d like to kvetch about? And any ideas for Friday polls would be especially appreciated, as would suggestions for improving the Prix Eau Faux…
