Van Gils Puur cologne for menDutch fashion house Van Gils has launched Puur, their latest fragrance for men:

Van Gils is an intensely sexy and masculine fragrance.

This juice combines a hint of citrus and aromatics with essential woods and musks.

Don't know about the scent, but I like the model a lot. 🙂

The model looks intensely sexy,I don´t know about intensely masculine, as he looks like he's been waxed within an inch of his life.

The description of the notes looks 100% interchangeable with most of the masculine mainstream scents released in the last 5 years. I will research Van Gils, as I am totally ignorant of their products! 😛

I don't know how widely distributed they are outside Europe & Russia — they certainly aren't easy to find in the US.

So is it pronounced, 'purr' or 'pure'?

I'm thinking the bottle looks like a shrunken plastic 5 gallon water dispenser, you know the kind you see at the water cooler in your office?

Those Dutch sure know how to pick their models don't they. 😉

The vowel sounds similar to the German ü, and to complicate matters, it doesn't appear in English. Sorry, guys.

The model is yum, but I can't say my hopes are as high for the scent. Van Gils is very much a drugstore brand, akin to Adidas and Axe.

Thanks. I won't even try to pronounce it in English, then.

It's actually a very easy vowel to pronounce: purse your lips as if you're saying “OOH”, but say “EEE” instead. (The shape of your mouth will change a little.)

The scent sounds exactly like all the other men's scents we're trying so hard to avoid.

He looks a little like Julian McMahon.

    OK, hot model,…

…. but if I had not read the text, i would have assumed this was a poster for a new deodorant stick.

The shape of the bottle, the uplifted arm….

That's harder than it sounds. I'll stick with just not saying it aloud 🙂
