L'Artisan Parfumeur celebrates the 30th anniversary of their iconic Mûre et Musc fragrance with a new Parfum version (shown above) and two new limited editions:
The noblest of all, the most refined and feminine among fragrances: the extract. Created by Bertrand Duchaufour, Mûre et Musc Extrait de Parfum interprets the original by using the finest, most exceptional raw materials. It highlights the fruity, musky perfume of blackberries warmed in the sun, sensual and enveloping.
With the radiant sparkle of its top notes, the extract creates an effect of freshness with citrus fruits (kumquat, bergamot) and aromatic notes lead by basil. Spicy notes (pink and black pepper) strengthen its contrast and add to its enchantment.
The heart has the fruity note of the blackberry dressed with more heady floral notes, of Turkish rose essential oil and iris absolute, which add richness and femininity.
The base of patchouli and oakmoss are the signature of this typical chypre harmony. The smooth and velvety leather note with a hint of vanilla, brings distinction, the elegance of the extract and even more femininity.
The extract is presented in an exquisite 15 ml bottle with the seven symbolic facets of L’Artisan Parfumeur and a cap made of zamac finely engraved with the coat of arms. It comes in its own box of subtle warm gold and black and purple lacquers. A 15 ml refill comes with this bottle of exception.

Ok…this has gotten some press lately but I still haven't found anyone whose actually sampled it! The notes listed in the Extrait de Parfum sound nothing like the EdT! Leather…patchouli…pepper?? I get just berries and musk in the original! Would love some input from anyone that has tried this! I love the look of all the LE bottles too!
Patchouli, oakmoss, leather & vanilla? Sign me up for this one! I'll be trying this one sometime very soon.
I love the L'Artisan series, and this one in particular, but most have no staying power on me. The only one that does is patchouli patch.
It is either a) much different or b) just emphasizes notes that are already in the lighter version but not listed. Who knows? I haven't tried it yet. The bottles are all gorgeous, agree!
There is just too many things coming out christmas, that I have to have , I guess that's what the good marketing is suppost to be. But I think that the bottles are exceptional, and I am very curious what L'Artisan's pure parfum would smell like.

Just a few days ago, by chance, I ended up reading several old M&M reviews on many sites and decided to wear it the next day. I sometimes forget about it in the midst of all the new launches we're bombarded with, and sometimes I see it on the shelf and think it's too “boring,” but it's always so nice to come back to from time to time even though it seems deceptively simple.
Somehow, I've yet to try M&M Extreme, but I'm curious about the notes in the extrait — interesting to me that they're adding some patch & moss to the base, as well as some leather. I'm very curious to try, but at that price point ($280/30ml) I won't be rushing out to buy. Maybe this 30th anniversary will create a revival of interest in M&M. It's hard to tell if it has “classic” status among perfumistas, but I, for one, enjoy having it in my collection.
Wow, Lizbeth, my skin eats up fragrance, but Timbuktu & Voleur de Roses both have tremendous staying power for me. L'Eau does also, considering it's so “fresh.” My big complaint about every line is lasting power!
Wore my regular M et M sample today in honor of this announcement. Not bad, but nothing to write home about or put on my Christmas list. If the extrait was more spicy I might like it better but at the price I will probably never know.
I hope they'll do more of them…and yes, the LE bottles are pretty — and not all that badly priced.
It isn't one of my favorites, but II think I read at some point that it's one of their best sellers?
Please ask them for a Chasse aux Papillons Extrait!

I have asked in the boutique in Paris and they said it is the best sold perfume, and then it is Figue Extreme. I smelled Musc et Mure alos a few times on the street.
If there would be some Chasse aux Papillons Parfum for x-mas, I would not bother any longer if the present is not from Tiffany.
I never have problems with scent lasting. It may be that there is something in the line that just doesn't work with my chemistry?
I've worn Vanilla, Premier Figuier, Passage de Enfer, and Aedes de Venustas, all last about four hours. The only one that lasts is Patchouli Patch. I shouldn't sulk, every other scent I wear lasts a minimum 8-10 hours. I recently tried Terre D Hermes and smelled it the next evening on my skin!
