The smell of damp earth

Posted by Robin on 20 October 2008 10 Comments

My favourite smell is burning olive wood. I spend much time in Greece and in the autumn, when the olive trees are pruned, the woods are filled with the smell of burning olive branches. The smell of damp earth and burning olive is incomparable and, I believe, inimitable.
