Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Collection: Dawn, Endless, Twilight ~ new perfumes

Posted by Robin on 31 October 2008 60 Comments

Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Collection Dawn, Endless & Twilight fragrancesSarah Jessica Parker will launch a new trio of fragrances called The Lovely Collection. According to the actress, Dawn, Endless and Twilight were designed to provide "a little glimpse into my world, something that was genuine and relatable — very specific moments, treasures of time”.

Dawn is a soft floral developed by perfumer Stephen Nilsen; the notes include citrus cocktail, violet leaves, angelica, orchid, vanilla, orris, oakmoss, vetiver and translucent musk.

Endless is a fruity floral by Yann Vasnier; the notes are pineapple, apple, ivy leaves, plum, peony, pink jasmine, magnolia, oakmoss, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver and suede musks.

Twilight is an ambery musk by perfumers Laurent Le Guernec and Clement Gavarry (the perfumers for the original Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely fragrance); the notes feature bergamot, galbanum, mandarin, pink pepper, peony, jasmine, amber, sandalwood, incense and musk.

Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Collection Dawn, Endless and Twilight will launch in February at the Home Shopping Network and will go into wider distribution later in 2009. They will be available in 30 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum. (via wwd)

they sound ok… but I don't really have any interest in trying them.
I think Sarah Jessica Parker actually really is interested in perfume, unlike most celebrities with perfumes. But I'm tired of everyone releasing series. If I was interested that would give me 3 more perfumes that I need to try, and 3 more to buy if I like them.

Hi and welcome! I really liked Lovely & Covet, but was very disappointed w/ Covet Pure Bloom, which she also did for HSN. Worried this will be more of the same. I'm not going to get excited anyway — first they're exclusive to HSN, then to Ulta, and so there will be no way to get samples probably until it's almost summer.

I'm sick to death of sets too. They seem to be the latest marketing ploy though, so guessing they're here to stay unless the economy completely collapses.

same for me; covet pure bloom turned out to be the only one I wasn't keen on…trouble is I discovered that once I already had a 50ml bottle!

Gwen and SJP are the only ones to do series of perfumes that I know of. Similarly tho, it's the flanker perfumes that annoy me. It seems that's a trend that's come about with all the celebrity perfumes. I didn't mind it with Britney's perfumes as the scents were so different, but generally speaking I'd much rather have something original..different name/ different bottle

GS is the only other celebrity, it's true, but there are tons of mainstream AND niche collections now. I find it annoying given how much product there is streaming out of the fragrance industry already. If you go read the WWD article, they took pains to say it wasn't a gimmick, but you know, sorry, it sure looks like a gimmick to me.

yes it's all a bit rushed isn't it. the celebrities seem to do a one fragrance a year, and over here a lot seem to come out in September. I was surprised to hear of fairy dust so soon after can can, yet now SJP will bring out three in one go!!

! there do seem to be too many releases but not many are memorable. I was really disappointed in Christina Aguilera's inspire, I think it's quite boring and like it's been brought out for the sake of it. I think the celebrities, in general, should only bring out one fragrance each! (didn't think id ever say that lol)

Well, you could 'sample' it from HSN. One good thing about HSN is their return policy–use up half the bottle, but return it within 30 days and get a full refund. I have to admit that I bought Covet Pure Bloom from them. Although it didn't take half a bottle for me to decide I hated it. Two sprays, then I said, “Blech! This is going back!” 🙂

I agree with Robin! Too much product out there, niche, mainstream and celebrity. At some point Your must-try list goes crazy and You just can't keep track of anything anymore, finally You just quit trying to sample everything – it's impossible! The best way I guess, is to stick to a few brands/scent families at a time and sample everything that way.

Maybe not the most thrilling news for the conaisseurs here but to me (mainstream sniffer) these are quite welcome. Not only did they get the bottle size right (30 ml is the ideal size to me) but by flankers like these i can figure out what notes i like and don't like- it's like having a “perfume for dummies” guide in sniffable form. Based on description only i suspect i'd go for twilight.

Didn't Sarah Jessica Parker say they waited 2 years in between Lovely and Covet because everyone else was doing so many releases in a year?

As I said, I think SJP really is interested in perfume so I don't mind her releasing them, but these seem like something they just want to put out and make money from quickly.

    Oh by the way….

Received my sample of the new Jade yesterday. It's not for me. I got a big dose of tea with some wood thrown in. It was alot warmer than I expected. With the mint, I was expecting something a bit more on the refreshing side.

It's not bad but I think k it would smell better on my husband.

    Dollars saved: $125.00

    Dawn,

    You are hilarious!

Not only did I read about her unisex scent as I'm sure a lot of you did too. But I remember reading an article that she was wearing the juice when she was interviewed by someone. The interviewer even commented on the scent she was wearing.

I was hoping for mint and cardamom. Hopefully the mint will be present on my skin. I still haven't ordered my sample yet. I should do that before my to try list gets in the triple digits.

I swear incense ends up as Necco wafers on me. Avignon was Necco wafers and stale cigarette smoke, Kyoto was Pine-Sol and Necco wafers, Jaisalmer had hints of Necco wafers, etc.

Yeah, SJP was wearing the UniSex fragrance on David Letterman. She said she was thinking about it, but she didn't really know if she'd release it. David gave her flack for it, so I'm sure she may have thought twice. He was basically saying a man shouldn't be wearing what she was wearing. Maybe it was too sweet??? Dunno

The fruity one sounds interesting, but kinda like “Lil Angel” from the Harajuku Lovers

FYI – The SarahJessicaParkerBeauty website is offering samples of the 3 new releases, which I just sent for. By description, I'm guessing Twilight will be the one I favor. I'm excited to try all 3 though. I am a fan of SJP and thought she did a good job w/Lovely and Covet [the original]. Plus, I love the Covet bottle – SO cute. Her website is nicely done.

I just sniffed these at Ulta and bought “Twilight”–all three are pretty, but Twilight is most distinctive, in my opinion–musky, ambery, sexy. Very powdery, in almost old-fashioned way.

I love the smaller 1 oz. size, too, so nice for those of us with more perfumes than we could ever use!

Just tried Twilight–while it wasn’t offensive, it was quite generic and forgettable. Such a disappointment, given that while I may not like Covet (I like Lovely), at least those two stood out.

i actually really like this collection. none are as nice as my favorite, covet, but theyre all very likeable. twilight is my favorite. it has a bit of a masculine edge to me. dawn is my second fav. its comforting like fabric softener or like fresh linens. very soft. hey i think i may have found another competitor for a soft scent for my cousin. lol. endless is a nice fruity floral. nothing amazing but i like it. its far more sophisticated then all the fruity florals out there and i liked it far more then pure bloom. heres hoping ull review them soon robin!
