Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2008, part 9

Posted by Robin on 9 October 2008 12 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is "special" (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

From Hermès, a new limited edition bottle of Eau des Merveilles illustrated by Alice Charbin (she also does the drawings on their website). 100 ml Eau de Toilette, 85€.

Cacharel celebrates the 30th anniversary of their Anaïs Anaïs fragrance with a limited edition bottle decorated by Eley Kishimoto, the house's current ready-to-wear designers (above left). 50 ml, 46€. (via madame.lefigaro.fr)

Narciso Rodriguez For Her in a limited edition mirror-finish bottle (above right). £60, and you can find a matching bottle in the Narciso Rodriguez For Him fragrance. (via vogue.co.uk)

From Estee Lauder, Pleasures, Pleasures Delight, Beautiful, Beautiful Love and Pure White Linen in the ScentSticks To Go collection: solid perfume pencils with sharpener. $30 at Nordstrom.

Laila by Geir Ness, done up in pink to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation (10% of sales will go to Komen for the Cure). 50 ml Eau de Parfum for $95 at Nordstrom.

Solid perfume pencils? Has that ever been done before?

I can't remember ever seeing any, but maybe I missed it. EL also has some solids in tubes — rather like thin lipsticks — currently out in travel retail stores.

I love the solid perfume EL tubes! I wish they'd bring them back to regular department stores.

They look cool — nicer than these, actually, although the idea of a “pencil” is nifty.

I love tha Hermès website artwork, it's so whimsical! And perfume pencils are a great and portable idea! 🙂

My purse is already wayyy too heavy!

I love the art there too…although this particular bottle design is not my favorite. But wish they'd do a Sur Le Nil with some of her drawings!

Okay for the pencils but what happens to the shavings? Isn't this a terrible waste?

I remember the Hermes site had an animated piece on their website for the release of Un Jardin après la Mousson. It was wonderful!

Yes, it has: if I'm not mistaken, Mary Quant had one smelling of Havoc, years ago.

I might have missed that one! Did see the drawings for Mousson though.

I was thinking the same thing about the waste!

A nice idea perhaps would be to take some of the shavings and include them in a letter or card. Or even to “write” on the letter/card with the pencil.
