Jo Malone + Swan Lake ~ perfume in the news

Posted by Robin on 8 September 2008 5 Comments

Feathers

Jo Malone's new Sweet Lime & Cedar fragrance will be scenting Cecilie Egeberg’s fragrance installation, Fields of Feathers, at the Deloitte Ignite Festival at the Royal Opera House, London:

Welcome to a very alternative take on ‘Swan Lake’ with the help of fragrance and beauty company, Jo Malone, and artist, Cecilie Egeberg.

Here, the senses of smell and touch are used to explore ideas surrounding the ballet. Subtle prompts, such as filling the room with suspended feathers and the fragrance of sweet lime and cedar, aim to trigger responses which – by emphasising the senses not normally used in appreciating theatre – will allow people to return to the work itself with a renewed understanding.

At the Lambert Studio, September 12, 13 & 14th from 10 am. (quote via roh.org.uk, found via vogue.co.uk)

This is so up my alley — installation art combined with perfume! Two obsessions combined. This sounds lovely and I tried the scent yesterday. I have to say it is very nice — VERY vietnamese salad with the lime and mint — but actually more like something I'd like to smell AROUND me, rather than ON me, you know? I get that with a lot of Jo Malone.

I never get to see any of these perfume art installations 🙁

Very Vietnamese salad might be perfect for me — there aren't many smells that I like in the air but not on my person, LOL…
