FDA Globalization Act

Posted by Robin on 17 July 2008 6 Comments

Donna Maria Coles Johnson of The Indie Beauty Network talks about the FDA's proposed Globalization Act of 2008. The Indie Beauty Network feels the Act will place crippling burdens on independent cosmetic businesses, and hopes consumers and small business owners will sign their petition. Give it a listen. Thanks so much for posting this, R. This situation is critical and the more signatories for the petition, the stronger our case will be when we present it to legislators. Just imagine a world where all the soap, body care and perfume products are produced by big corporations because the small companies have been forced out of business by Draconian fees. Sure P&G can afford the $2000-$12,000 fee, but 98% of the indie, artisan and mom-and-pop business can't and they'll be shut down.

Ms. Coles Johnson is a tremendous spokesperson with a well-reasoned and well-delivered message. I had not known of her or this situation before, but will add my name to the petition today.
