Laura Mercier Nuits Enchantees ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 18 June 2008 25 Comments

Laura Mercier Nuits Enchantees fragranceLaura Mercier has launched Nuits Enchantées, a UK-only limited edition fragrance for women inspired by the stories from the One Thousand and One Nights.

Nuits Enchantées was developed by perfumer James Krivda, and is described as "the perfect sensual scent for evening". The fragrance notes feature mocha, mace, cardamom, mandarin, ginger, rose, cedar leaf and amber.

Laura Mercier Nuits Enchantées is available in 50 ml, concentration unknown (£60). 3000 bottles were produced. The fragrance can be found now at Harrods, and will be at other Laura Mercier counters starting in July. (quote via vogue.co.uk, additional information via wwd) Update: as of September 2008, Nuits Enchantées was available in the US at Nordstrom, so apparently it wasn't "UK-only" for long.

Other recent launches from Laura Mercier: Violette Eau Gourmande, Neroli.

Mace? As in the paralyzer spray???

Sounds nice. I quite liked the Neroli one they did recently, certainly a lot more than the violet one. For once we get it rather than you! I'll let you know what I think of it next time I'm in Harrods.

Mace is a spice — it's comes from the outer seed shell of nutmeg 🙂

HA, seems like the US is now destined to be last for everything, and guessing it will stay that way until the $ improves. If it ever does. Yes, do tell!

One thing I love about LM is the bottle design, which manages to be both classic and contemporary at the same time. I like the weighty bottle.

Mmm, sounds nice and the bottle is lovely. I also liked the neroli when I had a chance to smell it. I bought a bottle of the violette for my daughter Violette and I think it fits her age group nicely (13). She doesn't wear it often, but has taken to spritzing it in her room (I must say it makes a lovely room spray!)

Amazing how many young girls receive fragrance from their Mums … wish I could be born again now and have a mobile phone at the age of 5 and Nina Ricci in the apple-shaped botthe at the age of 6!

Robin – FYI – Apparently, as of today, they have NE available in limited quantities at Nordstrom. I saw it on their website just today. Normally I wouldn't buy unsniffed, but I didn't want to pass up on this……

Ann, thanks — just saw that myself while doing up the daily shopping post! I'm going to see if I can try it this weekend.

I'm a wee bit anxious b/c I didn't like her Eau de Lune or L'Heure Magique (this reminded me of something from my childhood and drove me insane b/c I still can't figure out what). But I liked Neroli and Ambre Passion is pretty ok for a light but smokey amber. The notes in NE sound promising….thankfully Nordstrom has a sympathetic return policy, even though I hate being wasteful…..

I haven't really LOVED anything from LM — several of them are nice, but none have tempted me to buy, yet.

Nordies is taking preorders. I tested it today and was immediately intrigued. I have a small decant and will be hoarding it for a special night.

I went to my local Nordie's LM counter, and the SA didn't know about the perfume. ?? Are only certain stores getting the fragrance?

Sorry, I've no idea! I was at Nordstrom today and entirely forgot to look for this one.

Ask for it next time! I can't guarantee you will love it, but I know it's definitely a change from what Laura Mercier has offered in the past. The mocha and coffee accords are subtle, but noticeable. I don't know that I get magical Arabian Nights from it, but it is interesting. I'm excited that I can decant from the tester!

Wow, too bad I forgot. Too much new stuff to keep track of it all! I did snag a sample of the EL Amber + Ylang Ylang, at least for that.

I just bought this. The Dallas Nordstrom got four bottles by accident and they were about to ship them out. The manager sold me one. I really like it and had no idea it was UK only until I wanted to buy it.

But it isn't UK only any more…was advertised that way, but now it's at Nordstrom online. I should update the article!

It is now available exclusively on the Laura Mercier website:

Nordstrom online is no longer carrying it.
