The Iceberg Fragrance, Ferre Rose Diamond Edition ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 11 February 2008 8 Comments

The Iceberg Fragrance for womenThe Iceberg Fragrance for women, from Italian fashion house Iceberg, is expected to launch this coming May. It is the brand's first scent under new licensing arrangements with Selective Beauty.

The fragrance's "Technicolor design takes inspiration from luxury sportswear as well as the colourful pop-art style". The scent was developed by perfumer Nathalie Gracia-Cetto, and features notes of bergamot, coriander, pear, pink pepper, pistachio ice cream, peony, mimosa, violet, patchouli, vanilla, musk and suede.

The Iceberg Fragrance for women will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. (quote via cosmeticnews, additional information via bellemania.de)

Ferre Rose Diamond Edition perfumeLaunching this month from Gianfranco Ferre is Ferre Rose Diamond Edition, a limited edition flanker to 2007's Ferre Rose. The bottle design features a "diamond" pendant to remove and wear.

The fruity floral fragrance was created by perfumers Alexandra Jouet and Francis Kurkdjian, and features watermelon, pomegranate, mandarin, peach, orange blossom, rose, gardenia, water hyacinth, freesia, cedar, sandalwood, vanilla and amber (note: the list is identical to that of Ferre Rose, so this might be the same juice in a different bottle).

Ferre Rose Diamond Edition will be available in 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette and in Shower Gel. (via bellemania.de, sfilate.it)

I had to read that twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things – it really does say pistachio ice cream. huh. Against my better logic – I still want to smell it! (or maybe eat it, haven't had breakfast yet) LOL! And I kind of love the bottle with the notes written on it.

As for the Ferre Rose, has anyone you've known ever worn anything that came as a charm? I would give that to my daughters to play with maybe, but not to wear.

Pink pepper! Did they pass a law or something, saying you have to use it? Although I'm happier to see it than … peach and watermelon. Shudder.
Now that I think about it, those notes in Iceberg sound so wacky I'm looking forward to it. I'm voting for massive doses of the non-sweet notes. Twenty bucks says it smells like everything else, though…

Hey, I think those Iceberg notes sound great! Iceberg tend to do quite sweet, powdery juices, as far as I can remember? Just my thing. And the bottle looks good, in the picture anyway. But it will probably smell like The Beat.

That’s interesting. I still haven’t smelled it but I think it sounds like Burberry Brit (the EDT, because that’s the one I’m familliar with).

You know, creamy pistachio could be really nice! So long as it isn't *too* sweet. We'll see, assuming I ever actually do see this — can't think if I've ever seen the Iceberg brand on counter in the US.

Yep. No choice, you must have pink pepper, the more the better!

    Agree on the Iceberg!

They wrote the list of notes right on the bottle!
I mean, it's not quite the first time (Prada did it, too, on the metal parts of their bottles), but still, it's kind of odd.
The Ferre Rose, I note, does not have pink pepper in it. And it has the nerve to call itself a fruity floral? I think not! Get some pink pepper in there, pronto!

Indeed they did! And I do think they're the first to make it an actual design element (?) Can't decide if it is charming or not.

LOL — probably some pink pepper in that Ferre and they just didn't list it.
