Bedroom Soap belongs to an entire “Bedroom” line of products made by an Australian company called Dynamo House. When I first spotted it, I couldn’t resist the Modigliani-inspired illustration on its box, and when I opened the box just enough to inhale the soap’s fragrance, I was sufficiently seduced (if you will) to bring it home with me.
Bedroom Soap is blended from coconut oil, palm oil, and sweet almond oil, and its long lasting, finely milled bar produces copious, creamy lather. The fragrance, according to its label, is a “secret blend of pure essential oils.” I haven’t been able to find any specific information about the blend, but I’d be willing to guess that it includes jasmine and ylang ylang in a soft musky base. The result is a skin scent with sultry hints of exotic florals.
And what about this soap’s claim to be “spiked with natural pheromone alternatives”? No matter where you stand on the debate over synthetic pheromones — and I tend to think that attraction is a more complicated, more psychological combination of elements — this soap is a pleasure to use. If it happens to encourage an amorous mood in its user or in the user’s companion, then that’s just an extra reason to enjoy it.

Hi L! Well, I had never heard of this line before, and the name made me laugh–I mean, I'm not going to use the soap *in* the bedroom, right?!–but the actual product turned out to be very nice indeed. 🙂
On the one hand, the name is sort of silly, on the other, especially when I look at the illustration on the box, it has a certain charm. It reminds me a bit of those old pitcher and basin sets that ladies would use in their bedrooms in the days before indoor plumbing made a “bath room” part of every day life. Thanks for letting us know about this.
