Serge Lutens Louve & Sarrasins, Emporio Armani Diamonds ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 8 June 2007 60 Comments

Serge Lutens Louve perfumeSerge Lutens will launch Louve (shown at right), a “white almond” fragrance in the export range, this September. Sarrasins (no word yet on what it will smell like) will join the exclusive range, sold only at the Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido in Paris. (via cosmeticnews)

Update: a brief description of both scents, via osmoz:

Louve (“She-Wolf”) is a highly concentrated perfume featuring a sweet and balm-like note of bitter almond, as white as a snow castle on a mountaintop. Of Moorish inspiration, Sarrasins (“Saracens”) is a velvety floral…

Christian Dior Fahrenheit for men ~ fragrance review

Christian Dior Fahrenheit cologne for men

As far as perfume shopping is concerned, you will not often find me wandering in The Realms of the Well-Known (department stores). Call me a ‘niche-picker’ since you will find me scouring little boutiques (both brick-and-mortar and online) for unusual and little-known fragrances. Paris HiltonBlack Phoenix Alchemy Lab has launched two limited edition fragrances, Privilege and Pruno. The fragrances will be sold only “until Paris Hilton is released from the pokey”.

Privilege is…

Polished party-girl sleaze. This is a shameless scent, devoid of caution, regret, or introspection. This perfume reeks of tabloid glamour, and has no substance whatsoever. Armoise, tuberose, white citrus, rose absolute, oakmoss, tiare, tuberose, vanilla, linden, and lemon tree blossom.

Although this scent originated with fine plants and the pure essences, the final result is a grotesque, eerily empty caricature of a debauched, narcissistic would-be debutante…

Posted by Robin on 7 June 2007 13 Comments

Michael Storer Stephanie perfumerMichael Storer has launched three new fragrances for women, Stephanie, Yvette & Genviève:

Stephanie (shown) “is a highly realistic (the finest we’ve smelled) recreation of the headspace of the gardenia flower and is not for the faint-hearted”. Additional notes include pink pepper, black pepper, galbanum, angelica root, sambac jasmine, tuberose, and chrysanthemum.

Yvette is a “complex fantasy floral/gourmand fragrance…
