I’ve written before about my search for the perfect orange fragrance for summer (I already have 2 for cold weather: Fendi Theorema and i Profumi di Firenze Spezie de Medici). There are any number of contenders (L’Occitane Ruban d’Orange, L’Artisan Mandarine Tout Simplement, Maître Parfumeur et Gantier Sanguine Muskissime, Guerlain Orange Magnifica, Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte, Calypso Tangerine, among others), but so far, nothing is exactly right for orange…

Sweet peasDenmark and India are two very different countries. In fact, I am hard pressed to imagine two countries with less in common. This is probably why, being half Danish and half Indian, I tend to notice the very few occasions when they share something. On a recent trip to India, in the garden of the house that used to belong to my grandparents, I was enchanted to see a whole wall covered with fragrant sweet pea flowers. I was enchanted not only because of their wonderful colors and fragrance, but also because as a child spending summers in Denmark, my most vivid fragrance recollection is that of sweet peas as well. They grew profusely in my Danish grandparents' garden and thrive in the mild Danish summer climate, while limiting their life span in India to the (very) early spring before the summer heat sets in.

The warm round floral tones of sweet peas in the sun remains one of my favorite fragrances, and so I had high hopes for Diptyque's Pois de Senteur (Sweet Pea) candle…

CB I Hate Perfume Greenbriar 1968 fragranceCB I Hate Perfume has launched five new fragrances: Eternal Return, Wild Hunt, Greenbriar 1968, I am a Dandelion and Under the Arbor.

CB Archetype #01, Eternal Return ~ “This is the first scent in my series of primal smells. Eternal Return is the scent of sailing toward the shore. It is a blend of Fresh Ocean Air, Wooden Ship and a faint hint of Cypress Trees growing on the cliff above the water”. Eternal Return is available in 15 ml perfume absolute 15 ml ($85), or 2 ml perfume absolute sample ($17).

CB Archetype #04, Wild Hunt ~ “This is the fourth scent in my series of primal smells. Wild Hunt is the scent of an ancient forest in the heat of a summer afternoon…”
