Roja Dove at the Victoria & Albert Museum

Posted by Robin on 27 November 2007 2 Comments

Roja Dove will be giving a lecture at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London on December 14 at 7:15 pm:

Roja Dove, Maestro of Fragrance and the world’s only Professeur des Parfums reveals the stories behind great couture perfume creations including Diorissimo for Christian Dior, L’air du Temps by Nina Ricci and Balenciaga’s Le Dix. Discover how raw materials are combined and refined into uniquely named scents, presented in carefully designed bottles and enticingly offered to the wearer. Provoking, appealing, evocative; Roja Dove explains why fragrance is our most intimate layer of dress.

Tickets (£7.50 for adults) can be purchased at the Victoria & Albert Museum website. (via vam.ac.uk, found via designtaxi)

What the heck is a Professeur des Parfums? Is that a title he gave himself or a post he actually earned… And if the latter, who awarded him said post if he is the only one in the world?

He was an “ambassador” for Guerlain for some years, whatever that means, but don't know where the title came from! And since there isn't anybody else w/ the title, I don't guess there is any “official” way to earn it 😉
