Bond no. 9 Bryant Park fragrance

West Side and Bryant Park are the latest two fragrances from Bond no. 9, the perfume house that is mapping New York City’s neighborhoods in scent. Both were created by perfumer Michel Almairac of Robertet, and while neither is a soliflore, both feature prominent rose notes.

West Side launched last year, and was intended as an homage to the musical heritage of the West Side (you can see a picture of the bottle here). In addition to rose, the notes include ylang ylang, peony, sandalwood, amber, musk and vanilla.

Early reports that West Side had some affinity to Lancome Mille et Une Roses were intriguing…

Lacoste Touch of Spring fragranceLacoste will launch two limited edition fragrances this March. Touch of Spring (shown) is in the Touch of Pink line, and features quince blossom, aquatic accord, Amazon water lily, osmanthus, hosta, sandalwood and musk. Touch of Spring will be available in 50 and 90 ml bottles of Eau de Toilette and in Shower Gel.

Lancome Mille et Une Roses ~ fragrance review

Lancome Mille et Une Roses fragrance

In late 1999, Lancome launched 2000 et Une Rose to celebrate the turn of the century. The fragrance was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel, and included notes of rose, amber, vanilla and musk. 2000 Et Une Rose was a limited edition, but you could still buy it at the Lancome Institute in Paris even after it was discontinued in its original teardrop-shaped bottle; still, fans in the United States could no longer pop down to their local Lancome counter to replenish their supply. Happily, last year Lancome reissued the fragrance as part of its “La Collection” series under the new name Mille et Une Roses…
