Fresh Mangosteen Eau de Parfum ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 25 July 2007 6 Comments

Fresh Mangosteen Eau de ParfumFresh has launched Mangosteen Eau de Parfum,

Fresh® Laboratories unveils MANGOSTEEN EAU DE PARFUM which draws upon the exotic, bright, and succulent scent of mangosteen, a fragrant super fruit native to Southeast Asia.

To create this unique, energizing scent, Lev Glazman, co-founder and director of research and development of Fresh®, focused on the juiciest part of the mangosteen fruit, the white pulp in the center. Partnered with effervescent citrus notes, sheer flowers, velvety peach, and warm woods, the resulting fine fragrance is a sophisticated interpretation of the mangosteen fruit. It's truly addictive!

The notes include bergamot, lemon, freesia, Mangosteen fruit, peony, rose, peach flower, musk and rosewood.

Fresh Mangosteen is available now at neimanmarcus; $75 for 100 ml.

Smelled this today, really liked it nd got several comments walking back to the office. The staying power is above average. Nice scent for summer fare. I will add to my summer collection, although I still reach for Hermes Sur de Nil body lotion and edt along with Estee Lauder Azurre

Sounds nice! Is it tart, or sweet?

It starts off somewhat with a tart due to the lemon but morphs into slightly sweet but not sickening overly cloying sweet. The mangosteen fruit apprear during the middle and the dry down that lingers is delicious. Try an in store spritz and let it wear for a while I was quite pleased this may be my new suummer fragrance. My only gripe is that I am a gal that likes an entire line like wash and lition or cream so farr Fresh has not marketed any other products for the line as they do with fresh sugar and some of the others.

Thanks for the description! Maybe the bath & body products will follow later, esp. if Mangosteen does well?

They apparently have it now – I just got a card for samples which I am redeeming this weekend! Glad to hear the good comments – I've eaten mangosteen (albiet frozen) and my husband keeps combing NY's Chinatown for the fresh fruit. I hope it's a “fresh” summer scent (especially since the weather in NY hasn't quite turned to fall yet).

I gave it a very quick sniff — I'd call it fresh, but how close it is to the “real thing” I can't say.
