I'm starting this year's series of Mother's Day gift posts early only because I've seen so many great gift ideas this year. And shopping early never hurts, right?
Tops on my own wish list: the Prada Parfum de Sac, a stainless steel travel atomizer with a snap hook. The Parfum de Sac comes with two .34 oz refills, and is available in either Prada Eau de Parfum or Prada Tendre. Reasonably priced at $65, and available for pre-order at Neiman Marcus, and expected to ship around 4/20, in plenty of time for Mother's Day. Make mine the Eau de Parfum, please!
Also at Neiman Marcus, a "Book Set" in Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. I've no idea what the purpose of the book is, and there are no clues on the website. Perhaps you just toss it after you open it, I don't know, but it sure is cute. You do get the bottle of perfume (size also unknown), $95.
Yet another adorable gift set in Flowerbomb, this one called the "Ribbon Stage Mother's Day Set". You get Eau de Parfum (1.7 oz.), Bomblicious Body Lotion (6.7 oz.) and Deluxe Mini Eau de Parfum (0.25 oz.), $140 at Nordstrom.
Another one I'd like to have myself: the DL & Co Jasmine Attar candle, from La Creme Beauty, with notes of Grandiflorum jasmine and sandalwood in a blend of soy, maple and palm waxes with a lead-free cotton wick. The jar is hand painted in 14K gold. The 4 oz candle is $80.
A budget alternative to all of the above, the Mini Me Bath Ice Cream Gift Set from Caswell Massey, with 2 oz "petite scoops of bath creams" in Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Pearberry, Coconut, Apple, Pomegranate, Papaya and Peach. $24.

I want that book. What I'd do with it, I have no idea 🙂 That is exactly the kind of useless but pretty thing that makes a great gift, because one just wouldn't buy it for oneself otherwise.

I like the new Prada parfum de sac, are you reading the total perfume volume as (2) 0.34 oz refills PLUS an intial 0.34 oz already in the sprayer? LOL I am trying to figure out total liquid amount.
You know, I wondered that too for a minute, then I decided that there was nothing in there until you inserted one of your two refills. But might be worth emailing NM to ask!
So, now seems like the right time to say that, thanks to Angela's lovely posts on Femme Rochas, I was able to explain to my mother why her new bottle just doesn't smell the same…and then to find a vintage bottle for her on Ebay, which will be her mother's day gift this year. There are so many ways my mother and I don't get along, its a joy to make this particular connection with her. Perfume *is* better than therapy sometimes (grin).

I love the prada idea–purse size. I noticed Sephora had the roll on for Fracas. Oh, if only Serge Lutens would make a purse size!

The Fracas roll on is only $25. Sephora has some really cute gifts for Mother's Day and good prices. I'm so excited and I'm not even a Mom…unless my two Russian Blues count.
