Perfume solids from Stila & Bvlgari

Stila solid perfume compactStila has introduced solid versions of its Creme Bouquet (vanilla, pink lilac and lily of the valley) and Jade Blossom (green tea, cucumber and lemon verbena) fragrances. They are $20 each, and available now from the Stila website, which is currently offering free shipping on purchases of $60 or more.

Stila, by the way, has just been sold by Estee Lauder…

Shopping alert: Sephora to take over JC Penny beauty counters

Starting this fall, Sephora will be creating “store-in-store” fragrance and cosmetic counters at JC Penny:

The departments are expected to be substantial — 1,500 to 1,800 square feet — and will carry many of the brands that are sold at Sephora. Sephora carries more than 250 prestige brands, from high-end hair products from Frédéric Fekkai to lipsticks by Clinique, Lorac and Stila…

Fruity floral fragrances for spring: Delices de Cartier & Missoni

Delices de Cartier perfume

Fruity floral is not my favorite fragrance category, so you will have to take my words with a larger than usual grain of salt…but here are two recent offerings from the perfume counters:

Délices de Cartier was launched earlier this year, and takes its name from a Cartier jewelry collection. The bottle, inspired by a Cartier brooch, is gorgeous (although oddly similar to last year’s MyQueen); the fragrance was created by Christine Nagel of Quest and features frozen morello cherry, bergamot, pink, white and yellow jasmine, pink pepper, freesia, violet, tonka beans, amber and sandalwood…
