While it is true that this project is about as esoteric and uncommercial as perfume creation can be, such a flamboyant performance is bound to have an impact on the industry at large; not least as a kick in the pants to the complacency that sees 650 largely insipid, Identikit fragrances released per year, the majority with a shelf-life of 18 months or less.

Madame X ~ new fragrance from Ava Luxe

Ava Luxe Madame X perfumeAva Luxe has introduced a new fragrance, Madame X, described as a "sheer ambery veil of labdanum and leather that wears close to the skin but lingers through the night". The notes include coriander, acacia farnesiana, freshly cut hay, jasmine, rose, labdanum, leather, incense, patchouli, oakmoss, civet, ambergris, castoreum, sandalwood, musks and vanilla.

Madame X is sold in Eau de Parfum and Parfum, and samples are available for purchase.
