After wearing Debut yesterday, I decided to revisit my old friend Amoureuse. Amoureuse was created for Parfums Delrae by perfumer Michel Roudnitska, and was inspired by the box trees of San Francisco. The notes include tangerine, cardamom, honey, moss, tuberose, jasmine, ginger lily and sandalwood.
I adore Amoureuse, but I don’t revisit it very often…
As an "echo" of Buy Nothing Day, Le Labo will not sell anything at their Nolita fragrance boutique on Black Friday, November 24:
...we have decided to slow down....as Walter Hagen suggests "you are only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry, and be sure to take the time to smell the flowers along the way".
We invite everybody to come on that date for a day of workshop where you will learn more about perfume making.

“Turning Up Our Noses” is an interesting read in December's Prospect Magazine:
It is strange that, in a culture so desensitised to smell, most women still wear perfume almost every day, and, according to Evelyn Lauder, about 50 new fragrances are produced each year. Two millennia ago, Pliny made the same observation, complaining about the time and money wasted on perfume given that the wearer doesn't even derive much pleasure from it him or herself.
50 new fragrances? Somebody apparently lost count very early in the year.
