Celebrity fragrance quote of the day

Posted by Robin on 28 November 2006 4 Comments

Apparently, it's possible to smell like cotton candy and an ammonia-based cleaning agent at the same time.

    Hi Robin,

Totally off-topic here, but I recently saw Casino Royale, and at the end after Vesper died, Bond was going through her things and there was clearly a perfume bottle on-screen. I can't make out what it is, can you and your posse make out what this product is? It's interesting to know what the Bond girl scent of choice is, or at least what the producers think she should smell like. Thanks!

I haven't seen it (planning to, how was it?) but have read on MakeupAlley that it was Santa Maria Novella Melograno, an odd choice for a Bond Girl (very sweet & powdery).

Oh, so sorry I gave away the ending! 🙁 Mea culpa a thousand times, I thought most anyone who intends to see it has seen it by now. It is very good, and my impression is this is the best Bond movie in my memory and the best Bond man (sorry, again, I didn't grow up with Connery so I don't know what the magic is.)

This Bond girl is definitely not sweet and powdery type. Why don't you go see the movie and then put up a post here, and we can all venture our opinions on what this character would wear? Although, this may have been hashed to death already at other sites, NST is the only perfume site I wander to, so I don't know.

No worries at all, the point of a Bond movie (to me, anyway) isn't the surprise ending.

Glad to hear you loved it. I grew up with Roger Moore so to me he is the perfect Bond man, although I know that is heresy to anyone who started with Connery. Thought Pierce Brosnan was just ok, and the other guy whose name I forget was a waste of time.

Looking forward to seeing it, although at the rate we are going with holiday preparedness around here, we may have to wait for Netflix.
