Bvlgari Omnia Amethyste ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 1 November 2006 8 Comments

Bvlgari Omnia Amethyste fragrance

Bvlgari will launch Omnia Amethyste next February:

This latest Omnia incarnation targets a younger audience (aged around 20–25) than the original, and features a lighter, fresher, floral juice.

Omnia Améthyste opens on notes of green sap and pink grapefruit, giving way to the prominent accords of iris and Bulgarian rosebud. The base features heliotrope and solar woods accords.

Look for it in Asia and travel retail in February 2007, elsewhere next fall. (via moodiereport) Update: see a review of Bvlgari Omnia Amethyste.

An asian-oriented perfume, AGAIN! As an asian, i really hate this kind of perfume, sheer, weak, without any characteristic.

The Asian market is so massively huge that cosmetic companies would be idiots not to try to devise products for it, but I have to agree…most of these fragrances geared towards Asia end up being rather dull.

This sounds like a travesty! The bottle looks so weird in purple, too. Did Omnia really sell well enough to justify all these variations on it? I love the original, but I seem to be the only one in my entire city of over a million people that wears it… I've heard many complaints about the weakness/non-existence of it from perfumistas, too, though it's got good sillage and lasting power on me.

I love the original too. The flankers have no relationship to it that I can see at all. Maybe they just wanted an excuse to reuse the same bottle, LOL…

Sorry, I didn't mean “variations” in the sense that they bore any relation scent-wise to the original. It just seems odd to trade on the name (or bottle, as you say!) if the original wasn't a big hit. Maybe it was – if so, I'd celebrate.

I knew what you meant, I think — I guess to me, a flanker ought to have at least *some* relationship to the original.

But also get your point, why do a flanker to something that wasn't a big seller, and honestly I don't know if Omnia sold or not. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Omnia Crystalline sold more — especially in Asia — and if that is now the name they are building on so to speak.

This arrived in my store this week and I have to say the only word that popped into my head when I tried it was WEAK. It belongs with feint groups such as Anna Sui's Secret Wishes and Abussons Perleissimas, not to mention Popy Moreni. Needless to say, we have merchandised it with those aformetioned products, its not going anywhere near the other Bvlgari's. Nowhere near deserving.

I figured it might turn out to be weak since it is said to be oriented towards the Asian market. Ah well, I didn't like Omnia Crystalline either, only the original Omnia.
