Aroma M Geisha Marron, June Jacobs Better Love ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 13 October 2006 6 Comments

Aroma M Geisha Marron fragrance

Geisha Marron is the latest scent from Aroma M:

Come autumn, and Japanese chestnut vendors turn out in droves, everywhere diffusing the chilly air with the gently musky aroma of their toasty treats.

Aroma M’s newest fragrance, Geisha Marron, takes its inspiration not only from the scent of roasting chestnuts, but also from that even more widespread flavor of autumn … of red and green leaves turning to brown (marron, in French). Brown is surely the most underserved color in all of perfumery. More than any other, it evokes the musty scent of succulent overripeness, of sweetness that dares to skirt the edge of seductive decay.

Other notes include muguet, white Japanese magnolia, mandarin, bergamot, and grapefruit. Look for Geisha Marron soon at luckyscent. (via Aroma M)

Spa line June Jacobs will launch Better Love, a "seductive, sexy, nighttime fragrance", this month:

Better Love, which was developed by Takasago and inspired by scents reminiscent of nights on the Mediterranean, has top notes of bergamot, lemon and mandarin. The heart includes rose, jasmine petals, pink pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. The base contains notes of cream, cedar, musk and amber. (via Women's Wear Daily)

And the packaging is lovely, to boot…

I have a sample of Marron, which I've been enjoying. The chestnut has an almost chocolatey richness, and I can smell hints of the white flowers and citrus as well. Delicious!

Geisha sounds wonderful, but I have to admit that I don't think brown in the most under-served colour in perfumery at all!

Perhaps so, although lately it seems like everyone is using pink, black or purple as color references. Now I've got to sit & think up some other “brown” perfumes…
