New fragrances from CB I Hate Perfume

Posted by Robin on 10 April 2006 10 Comments

CB I Hate Perfume Memory of Kindness fragranceCB I Hate Perfume has released two new fragrances:

Memory of Kindness is part of the Secret History collection, and was inspired by crawling through a jungle of tomato vines...you will just have to read the description.

M2 Black March is part of the Metamorphosis collection and is described as a "fresh clean scent composed of Rain Drops, Leaf Buds, Wet Twigs, Tree Sap, Bark, Mossy Earth and the faintest hint of Spring Flower Bulbs".

Both fragrances are available in perfume oil absolute or in water spray.

Update: see reviews of Memory of Kindness and Black March.

I was reading about those two only yesterday – Prince Barry mentioned them on POL – and I adore the name 'Memories of Kindness' and the story that goes with it. I really, really hope that the juice doesn't destroy the illusion; I would love to know what this smells like. Do the CB's have staying power?

I just tried it over the weekend & I love it: it is a very simple perfume with tomato leaf, very green, and very bright & summery…guessing it has bergamot & other citrus notes. But you will have to like the smell of tomato leaf!

The Kindness sounds good but I like the sound of Black March even better, I love that wet, rooty stuff …. have you sampled?

Oh man, and I finally just now got around to sampling his Beach 1966, and now… I am so behind keeping up. And my Mr. H's Holiday (which I had to get and it's all your fault) is still sitting with my samples untouched for some reason, too. GRA! I need to get a move on and start wearing everything at once like a mad woman.

Who can keep up with all these samples, K…I have samples that I jumped through hoops to get and I haven't tried them either.

Chris has also got his Individual Accords listed on his website now. Some of them sound really tempting.

I saw that B! Yes, very tempting list — and the in-store list is even longer. I smelled the roast beef when I was there and it is rather amazing.

What is best? The oil or the water based version? I'm thinking of sampling this and Iris Silver Mist in anticipation of buying a scent for Spring. I'm attempting to build a modest, all-round-seasonal fragrance collection!

Also, Robin – I would like to sell my (only used twice) Noir de Noir, a barely used DKNY Charmingly Delicious and a bottle of Kingdom which has a lot of juice left but is about 3 yrs old. I'm going to put them up for auction on Ebay. I know how much I will start my NdN and DKNY for – but, since Kingdom has apparently bene discontinued, do you have a suggestion as to how much that would be reasonable to go for? I've never sold perfume before!

    Thanks so much!

It is really a matter of personal taste. I've never liked using oils, and much prefer the water formulas — but they're light, you use them more like a body spray than a perfume. I do know many people who prefer the oils & find them longer lasting.

And sorry — no idea, I've never sold on ebay either!
