More fragrance news from Serge Lutens

Posted by Robin on 22 January 2006 13 Comments

Many thanks to Cédric for the news that the next fragrance release to join the export line from Serge Lutens (after Gris Clair, that is, which will launch in March) will be Chypre Rouge. It will be a Haute Concentration Eau de Parfum, like Cédre and Daim Blond. Look for it in August or September. Update: see a review of Chypre Rouge.

And Fumerie Turque will be the next exclusive fragrance to join the export line for a limited edition run. It should hit the States in late 2006.

If you're not familiar with the intricacies of the export vs. exclusive ranges, see Serge Lutens - Nearly All The Facts.

I am so excited! Fumerie Turque is my #1 Serge lemming. I will pass along to cavewoman the news about the chypre. I am sure she will be interested.

Thanks R! You have made my sunday!

A, everyone is happy about Fumerie Turque but me, LOL! But can't wait to hear the notes of Chypre Rouge 🙂

I find SL confusing and overwhelming and when I smelled the whole export line, I did not like the ones that I was sure I would like and vice versa. Fumerie Turque sounds great and so I am suspicious of it.

I received a sample of Fumerie Turque from ebay, and wore it yesterday. It's really lovely. Can't wait to try Chypre Rouge. Serge Lutens is my favorite.

It is an unusual fragrance, and one of several SLs that I admire without really wanting to wear it. But like all of them, very much worth trying.

But do wish Iris Silver Mist would be the next export!

One of my favorite lines too, although FT is not high on my list. Wish someone would leak the notes for Chypre Rouge…it is going to be a long wait!!!

FT isn't a favorite, but I may pick it up and wear it from time to time. I really love my Un Bois Vanille, it's such a great vanilla. What's your favorite Serge Lutens? I buy a lot of my samples from Ebay – has anyone else done this? So far, my experience has been great.

Well, I just got an almost full bell jar of FT:) But by next fall, I should have made a considerable dent in it–and the bell jars are so pretty, anyway. I probably would buy something called “Chypre Rouge” unsniffed (a mistake, I know, but it sounds soooo good to me)!

My favorite is Iris Silver Mist, but I love many in the line. So far most of my samples have come via swapping, but ebay is as good a way as any to get them!

Good for you…I still don't own a bell jar! They are so big I fear I could never drain one. Chypre Rouge will be in the export line so it will be easy to try it before you buy!!

Those are some great and exciting news! Dying to try Gris Clair, now am dying even more to try Chypre Rouge. As for Fumerie Turque, I am not the biggest fan, but it will make so many people happy to have it in the export line, and I have a feeling I will cave too…

M, Gris Clair does not sound appealing to me, and don't love FT, so hanging my hopes for 2006 on Chypre Rouge 😉

Me too, R! It's the only one of the exclusives I've smelled to be honest, but I wish I could get my hands on it without travelling or selling organs…
