Dragonfly Blue Shea Butter

Dragonfly Blue is one of my favorite small e-tailers: the quality of their products, packaging, and in particular their customer service is simply incredible, especially in light of the super-affordable prices. Although I love some of their scents, I never wore them often in the oil form; I found it annoying to apply and the base had a funny reaction with my skin chemistry. Even their Vanilla Almond, a perfect pure, airy and sweet meld of vanilla and almond that I maintain is one of the best almond scents out there, I rarely wore, because although it smelled great in the bottle, it invariably ended up smelling rather cardboard-y on my skin.

Fragrances to soothe the frazzled holiday shopper from CB I Hate Perfume

CB I Hate Perfume Just Breathe fragrance

For the holiday season, Marie Claire magazine asked Christopher Brosius of CB I Hate Perfume to create an exclusive fragrance for their December Gift Guide. Their request: something that would calm the over-stressed Type A personality. The result is Just Breathe, with notes of bamboo leaves, Japanese green tea, three varieties of cedarwood, and incense.

Just Breathe is a light, calming fragrance in a water formula that allows you to use it on your skin, your clothing, or as a room spray. If it was a color, it would be a very pale celadon green, and that describes the smell as well: pale leafy greens with a light wood undertone and the teensiest hint of incense. It would create a perfect atmosphere for yoga or meditation, if you are the sort of person who undertakes such activities, and makes a lovely spray for the bedsheets just before going to sleep…

New fragrances for 2006: Hugo Boss Pure Purple, Gucci Envy Me 2 & more

Hugo Boss will launch Pure Purple for women in January, followed by Boss Selection for men in May. Later in the year, look for Boss in Motion Black. Gucci will launch Envy Me 2 in April, and Valentino will launch Very Valentino for men in August. Christian Dior will launch a parfum version of Miss Dior Cherie in April, then a new travel retail scent, Forever and Ever Dior in July (the juice will be the same as the 2001 fragrance Forever and Ever).
