Top 10 Summer Fragrances 2005

It has been an unusually hot summer where I live. Really, really unusually hot. And humid. We have had so many “Severe Weather Alerts” that I hardly pay attention to them anymore.
Here are some of my favorite fragrances that remain wearable even when the temperatures are climbing past 90 and it is so humid that your glasses fog the minute you go outside. It is a completely different (and more citrus-oriented) list than I would have come up with in late June or early July (and possibly a different list than the one I would do tomorrow). Fragrance of the day: Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson is the first global scent release from the UK designer of the same name. It follows Incense, which was created in conjunction with Lyn Harris of Miller Harris and released on a smaller scale as a limited edition in 2002. Incense was a big hit with perfume fans on the many fragrance forums, but it is sadly unobtainable now.

New & upcoming fragrances
According to W Magazine, the new L'Artisan fragrance I mentioned yesterday will be called Fleur d'Oranger. Other news from W: Apothia will release a new scent called Velvet Rope, inspired by a vanilla martini and featuring vanilla and grapefruit zest. Many thanks to Victoria for the news!
