Two Leaf & Co candles

Two Leaf & Co Iced Black Tea candleI am always on the lookout for bargain candles with interesting scents. This week I have been burning soy candles from Two Leaf & Co, an etailer that also carries scented body lotions, creams, and soaps. Here are the three candles that I tried:

Orange Blossom: This is a lovely soliflore orange blossom. It is only lightly sweet, but is considerably less dry and bitter than my old standby orange blossom candle, Soyology Venus. Very cheerful and a nice bathroom scent…

Fragrances for children: Petit Guerlain and Petit Ange

Guerlain Petit Guerlain fragrance

Guerlain released Petit Guerlain in 1994. It is usually attributed to Jean Paul Guerlain; Olivia Giacobetti said in an interview some time ago that she worked on it as well. The notes are citrus, lavender, camomile, violet leaf, mimosa, rose, jasmine and vanilla. The top notes are a bit sharp, but it quickly softens to a sheer, delicate floral with a subdued Guerlinade base. It would be perfectly appropriate on a young girl, but there is nothing particularly childish about it — an adult who preferred something very soft and quiet could easily wear it…
