The end of magazine scent strips?

Posted by Robin on 23 December 2005 7 Comments

Imagin is a new kind of single-use atomizer designed to allow consumers to test perfumes on skin. It is flat, so can be used in magazines in place of the dreaded scent strip:

Once the package is opened, air enters, allowing the consumer to squeeze the Imagin sample to emit a mist of fragrance.

Unfortunately, Estée Lauder has a one year exclusive on the new technology, so looks like we'll have to endure scent strips a little while longer. I detest scent strips, and fervently hope that this technology catches on. (via beautypackaging)

Guerlain Grosellina & Tutti Kiwi, and a few more new perfumes for 2006

Posted by Robin on 23 December 2005 12 Comments

More on next year's Aqua Allegoria releases from Guerlain:

Grosellina is a fresh and fruity fragrance and it is housed in a white carton that provides a striking contrast with the decorative red currants on the outer. Its other notes include white tea, raspberry and sweet acacia flower. In April, look for a new Shalimar Light, and as previously reported, other future releases from Guerlain include Colors of Love, Lovely Cherry Blossom Gold Sparkles, and summer versions of L'Instant. Update: see a review of Guerlain Tutti Kiwi.

The Different Company will debut a new fragrance by perfumer Celine Ellena in May. (via Women's World Daily) Update: see a review of The Different Company Sel de Vetiver.

A towering copper Serge Mansau sculpture housing a unique and striking composition by Richard Fraysse, L’Anarchiste is Caron’s 4th fragrance for men. It has notes of orange blossom, mandarin, cedar leaves, cedarwood, sandalwood, vetiver and musk.

Orange clouds at sunset, red and yellow autumn leaves swirling and brushing against the tall trees where pomanders of clove and orange sway in the breeze…
