Giorgio Armani is changing the name of their men's fragrance Black Code; it will now be known as Armani Code. The company will launch a new website, giorgioarmanibeauty.com, on Monday. (via Women's Wear Daily)

Parfums de Nicolai Maharadjah candleIf there is a candle that can turn my humble abode into an Indian palace, Maharadjah by Parfums de Nicolaï would be my choice for the task, which it does beautifully with its spicy and rich fragrance. The sparkling effect of ginger is amplified by the winey effervescence of patchouli that evokes a vision of golden dust swirling in the air. Sweet sandalwood lends a rosy creaminess that balances the hot burst of spices and herbs.

Serge Lutens Datura Noir perfume

Serge Lutens released Datura Noir in 2001. It was created by perfumer Chris Sheldrake, and the notes are mandarin peel, apricot, lemon flower, datura flower, tuberose, osmanthus, coconut, heliotrope, myrrh, bitter almond, vanilla, tonka bean, musk.

Datura Noir starts off rather heady, with all of its notes in evidence. They slowly rearrange themselves; in no particular order you might notice the mandarin peel or the almond or the tuberose. Eventually it resolves into a tropical floral with subdued hints of coconut and chocolate and a very slight dusting of powder. It is lush and creamy but not loud — the white florals hum rather than scream, as they are sometimes wont to do — and sweet without being cloying…

The first scented credit card has been released in Japan. Now you can watch your money go accompanied by "upbeat citrus notes of mandarin, grapefruit and lemon." (via jcn newswire)
