New fragrances for 2006: Hugo Boss Pure Purple, Gucci Envy Me 2 & more

Posted by Robin on 29 November 2005 9 Comments

Hugo Boss will launch Pure Purple for women in January, followed by Boss Selection for men in May. Later in the year, look for Boss in Motion Black. Gucci will launch Envy Me 2 in April, and Valentino will launch Very Valentino for men in August. Christian Dior will launch a parfum version of Miss Dior Cherie in April, then a new travel retail scent, Forever and Ever Dior in July (the juice will be the same as the 2001 fragrance Forever and Ever). Pure Purple sounds interesting – hope it has lots of violets. 🙂

Not waiting for the Miss Dior Cherie thingie in any strength. Did not like it and btw this seems to be rather popular in Paris.

First Envy, then Envy Me, now Envy Me 2? Gucci needs to bring back Tom Ford! 🙂

N, have never smelled a single fragrance from Hugo Boss! Are there any I should try? Not going to be waiting breathlessly for the MDC either 😉

K, Agree, it is not an overly imaginative line-up!

Like N, I am not anxious to smell Miss Dior Cherie ever again in any concentration… when it was launched at the Printemps de Beaute, I could not escape the sickening fruity miasma and had to back away quickly.

Hi R – having huge holes in my memory (as you know I have) forbids me from recalling testing Hugo Boss perfumes. However, I do know that it was not in the past months. If I did in passing then they must have been utterly and delightfully forgettable.

It seems an odd choice, since I would not think the target market for that scent would be a group that bought a lot of parfum, but what do I know.

Deep Red and Boss Intense are definitely fragrances you should try, and not at all forgettable.

Thanks, will have to look for them. Am curious about the Deep Purple, as much for the name as anything else.
