New & upcoming fragrances from Annick Goutal, Jessica Simpson

Posted by Robin on 28 September 2005 14 Comments

Annick Goutal MandragoreAnnick Goutal has released a new Eau de Parfum concentration of Mandragore. It is available in a spray bottle, or in the gorgeous butterfly bottle shown at left.

I am looking forward to trying this; I liked Mandragore but the lasting power was not impressive in the Eau de Toilette. (via annickgoutal.nl)

Jessica Simpson, in collaboration with Randi Shinder of Clean Fragrances, will launch the Sweet Kisses collection this October in Walmart. The line will feature 3 fragrances: Creme Brulee, Vanilla Cupcake, and Strawberry Sorbet. The duo already have two retail lines: Dessert Beauty and Dessert Treats. (via prnewswire)

Hi, R! I hope all is well.

That bottle is gorgeous! I am coming to appreciate Annick Goutal's fragrances more and more, and will definitely try the EdP when it debuts.

    Hugs!

R, isn't it pretty? No idea when it will be in the US, unfortunately, although perhaps it already is!

Annick Goutal really does do some stunning bottles! This one is very pretty, but I still might like the regular men's Mandragore bottle better (the one with the gold pattern).

The new Mandragore bottle is stunning indeed (glad something else besides Petite Cherie now has a butterfly stopper), but like you, I can't decide whether I like it or the men's edition better. Either way, a bottle is going to be bought in time for next summer though! 🙂

A, I think I've decided on the men's, but of course, the EdP won't be available in the men's. Isn't that the way 😉

What is it with pop tarts and cupcakes?

I guess they sell! I have never tried anything by Dessert Beauty but they are everywhere: Sephora, QVC, you name it.

I recently had the pleasure of attending an unveiling of this new addition to the AG line at one of my department stores.

Given the description of the notes, I didn't think I would like the fragrance, but wound up loving it! It's an extremely fresh, light scent and I found myself sniffing my wrists for a long time afterward. In fact, I think Mandragore has supplanted my other AG lemmings.

Don't know which bottle I would choose, as they are both gorgeous!

I don't get the whole baked goods trend either. I love to eat tarts & cupcakes, but I don't want to smell like them!

Oh, if you were sniffing your wrist for a long time afterward the EdP must have much better lasting power — good to know!

LOVE the Mandragore bottle….it will be mine.

As for Sweet Kisses, Jessica Simpson must be STOPPED! I thought Dessert Treats was gross, or intended for 8-year-olds, or both. And the original line…since everything was edible it meant that everything was sticky. No thanks. I wrote about the body scrub a while back if you want to see my rant for yourself: http://beautyaddict.blogspot.com/2005/09/beauty-addict-psa-stale-dessert.html

I have not tried anything from Dessert Beauty or Dessert Treats, but I think the new line will be priced even lower so it is not likely to be a huge improvement.
