Caron Parfum Sacre

Posted by Robin on 21 June 2005 6 Comments

Thank you to Pam for the news that Caron is discontinuing the parfum version of Parfum Sacre. The Eau de Parfum, happily, will still be available.

That is very sad. They have been discontinuing the extrait for the last few years, but this time it seems that they are serious.

V, I am happier to see them let go of the extrait than to discontinue it altogether, although that could be step 2.

It is interesting how few companies even release an extrait these days. Eventually I suppose it will be a thing of the past, like corsets.

I am afraid that it might be true. Many people do not like to dab (myself included), but I love those tiny spray atomizers of extrait de parfum (Guerlain and Chanel have them). I recently purchased Chanel #19 in the most elegant silver atomizer. It looks like a lipstick case. I love the pretty glass bottles too, but since I store them in boxes anyway, it is not like I can enjoy looking at them.

Thank you for the clarification NST! I had heard rumors about it being totally d/c'ed so I'm glad to know what's going on now.

M, I've got to check my notes, I'm not even sure I've tried it! Every time I go to Caron I head straight for the urns and ignore all else.

You must try it, if you can, NST! It's really beautiful. =)

But those urns are something! 😉
