Francesco Smalto Fullchoke & more new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 30 March 2005 5 Comments

Francesco Smalto Fullchoke fragrance for menFrancesco Smalto has released Fullchoke, a men's fragrance created by nose Pierre Bourdon:

In keeping with the sharp, contemporary style of the fashion introduced by artistic director Franck Boclet, the new eau de toilette, only the second fragrance for Smalto, is described as "electrifying" and based on "the explosive notes of a gunpowder accord".

The notes include gunpowder, cardamom, pepper, pineapple, coriander, jasmine, lily of the valley, rose, vetiver, rum, vanilla, musk, and amber. Francesco Smalto Fullchoke is available in 50 and 100 ml. (quote via cosmeticsint, additional information via osmoz)

Perfumania and the Five Star Fragrance Company are teaming up to launch the fragrance Red Dress; all of the proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.

Developed by master perfumers at the illustrious fragrance house Givaudan, Red Dress is a textured, floral musk composed of Mandarin, Freesia and Bergamot on top with mid-notes of Rose Petals, Jasmine and Linden Blossom. Upon its dry down, Musk, Iris and Sandalwood impart a hearty ovation that is at once feminine and strong. (via PRweb)

Interesting, I wasn't aware that Fullchoke had a gunpowder note. The only fragrance I knew that had gunpowder note before was Lepanto. The maker's name escapes me right now.

Doubly interesting because Fullchoke claims to be the first to use gunpowder, see

I found the link! Not much info on the site, but it's been over a year since I first heard of Lepanto.

Thanks V. Do you know if anyone in the US carries this line, I've never heard of it.

Thanks Vistoria! I am the one who has been using Lepanto for ages now and I know that the scent was created ages before I discovered it.

Unfortunately it is not available outside Venice. Their store is in the Santa Croce district.
