To create the fragrance, she turned to perfumer Guy Robert. Parfum no. 1 was launched in 1999, and features lime, bergamot, rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, violet, vanilla, moss, and musk.
The lime and bergamot opening is surprisingly strong and sharp, but it eventually settles into a soft, sweet, lightly powdery floral blend. The floral notes are all equally prominent; the moss and musk are very restrained. The base smells very creamy and smooth.
It is almost uber-feminine, and has a sort of stately, old-fashioned quality. I felt seriously underdressed just trying it — this calls for pearls and a silk dress, and maybe even a hat. It is a very pretty scent, but personally, even on a good day I am not ladylike enough to wear it.

The notes sound so good on paper (or screen, in this case) but the citrus never goes away on my skin! I wanted to love this one but it just does not work for me.

The citrus is very strong on me, but not lasting — I might have liked it better if it had lasted! It really is a pretty fragrance though, just very much “not me”.
I don't get citrus from this one. I love it! It's very soft, sexy and sophisticated. One of my faves! I waited a very long time to finally own this one, and I have to say it was worth the wait.

No, I got it from Lucky Scent. I was on the waiting list, from my memory, it was around April until October of last year. A LONG time for someone as impatient as I am. But on the upside, I began corresponding with the owner, who is really a sweet person. The delays were caused by mandated changes to the formula in order to meet guidelines for sale in the USA.

That is a long wait, V! I hate reading about fragrances available overseas and then waiting a year for them to be in the US. Wish I could fly to Paris twice a year.
I tried a sample of this when I placed an order from Luckyscent for CdG Red Rose. The owner recommended I try a sample after I told him I adored rose scents. I was excited, as the owner of luckyscents makes great recommendations. I REALLY wanted to like it as it was very feminine and soft in the vial. After a few moments it went 'buggy (i.e. smelled like insect repellent)' on me. Disappointing for me.
Interesting, I don't remember anything like insect repellent. Maybe it was the lime & bergamot in the top notes that bothered you?
