More new perfumes: Chloe Collection, Matthew Williamson & more

Posted by Robin on 24 February 2005 4 Comments

Chloe Collection 2005 fragranceThirty years after the release of Chloé, Unilever is preparing to release the limited edition Chloé Collection 2005. The fragrance is described as "innocent, charming, and playfully sexy" in Women's Wear Daily. According to Parfumessence, the top notes will feature water lily, passionfruit, and pear, with a heart of tuberose & gardenia over a base of white woods and musk. Look for it in late spring.

The new Matthew Williamson scent is now available for pre-order at escentual.co.uk. I read the description twice, but cannot offer a single clue about what it will smell like. It will be available in May. Update: see a review of Matthew Williamson.

And the much-awaited new scent from Les Parfums de Rosine, Une Folie de Rose, is now available at first-in-fragrance. This is a chypre rose, with notes of coriander, bergamot, rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, sandalwood, oakmoss, vetiver, patchouli, and amber. I hope we don't have to wait too long for this to arrive in the US. Update: see a review of Parfums de Rosine Une Folie de Rose.

Oh no! Don't get me started…again…on these perfume re-treads, Robin! LOL! But I am keeping an open mind and will absolutely test the Chloe and get back with you on my thoughts. Chloe was my absolute favorite fragrance “back in the day,” so I just can't see how it can possibly be improved.

But, I do look forward to the other two releases and your opinions on them should you have the opportunity to test them.

Thanks for your wonderful articles! I could not get onto your blog earlier today (don't know why), but am glad I was finally able to log on and read it.

R, I think blogharbor was down earlier today.

I loved Chloe too & wore it for years. I haven't smelled it in a long time.

I am dying to try the Rosine, I love a nice chypre. Contemplating a sample order from first-in-fragrance 🙂

I just know I am going to love this new Rosine, since I love chypres!

But I will wait and get it either at Aedes or at Barney's in April.

Yeah. I can wait til then.

    Are you laughing?

    HA HA HA

I'm just hoping Aedes or Barneys will have it by April. Some of these perfumes take so darn long to get to the US. I almost hope I don't love it, I need to replace my Ecume and don't think I can do 2 Rosines.
