Annick Goutal Mandragore coming soon
The Annick Goutal website finally has information on their latest release, Mandragore. Take a look at the men's bottle (link no longer shows bottle, sorry), it is just stunning; the women's bottle is rather dull in comparison. The page says that Mandragore will be available starting in March 2005 in the Annick Goutal boutique in Rotterdam, no word on when it will have a wider distribution. As long as you're there, take a look at the stunning handpainted bottles for Eau d'Hadrien and Nuits d'Hadrien. I want one! Update: see a review of Annick Goutal Mandragore.

Wow, the violet/purple color of the bottles is gorgeous! I agree, the men's bottle is more interesting than the women's…imagine what a “stand-out” it would be in your fragrance display?! hmmm…..
Wait to smell! The bottle is gorgeous, but I don't even know what mandrake smells like.
I was just thinking that I don't know of any line other than AG that releases its unisex scents in different bottles for men & women. It is rather odd and must be much more expensive. Personally, if I love the juice, I'll be buying the men's for sure.
But I know what pepper and ginger and anis smell like and it just sounds so delightfully gothic/magical.

I just read about Mandragore, was excited to have a new fragrance, but am glad I found this Blog as I will not be wasting my time with it. Do you think the original AG fragrances have been better than the newer. The older fragrances kept, in the dark, did very well and the scents seemed more appealing?
I hope you will not give up before you try it, we might have very different taste in fragrance! I honestly don't know if the early AGs are better. My favorites are Eau de Sud and Le Chevrefeuille, and I think, although I'm not certain, that Sud is an early fragrance and Chevrefeuille is fairly recent.
